Who is responsible

ChinaInView is the product name. The registered operator, business address, privacy contact and any required regional representative will be identified in the final notice before launch. These details have not yet been supplied.

This website

The product website presents information and interactive examples. Its examples do not upload your photos, create an account, or send your demonstration selections to our app services. The sample narration uses your browser or device speech service. The app-download buttons currently open a preview message.

This build does not add advertising pixels, behavioral analytics, newsletter collection, or non-essential browser storage. The hosting provider necessarily handles connection information such as IP address, browser information and requested URLs to deliver and secure the website. Hosting and access-control services may process additional technical data under their own notices.

Information used by the app

The following summary reflects the current app implementation and will be checked against the release version. Some information stays on your device; signing into an optional account enables synchronization.

  • Account information: email address, the display name you provide and a password hash.
  • Travel data: trips, saved places, dining history, travel context and preferences; food preferences and avoidance information where you choose to enter them.
  • On-device information: recent scan text, viewed items and a randomly generated device identifier. Photos are not included in recent scan history.
  • Feedback and service records: submitted feedback, app version, device identifier, request action, outcome, timing and the model provider used.

Lens, audio guidance and AI

Lens, menu reading, bill reading, the on-site guide, translation and trip assistance use third-party AI services. The app asks for AI-processing permission before the first relevant request; that permission can be withdrawn in Profile → AI & your data.

Depending on the feature, requests can include a photo you choose, text you enter, trip preferences and destination context. Food avoidance information is sent when checking a product label against it. Location, when enabled for the guide, is used through a mapping service to provide nearby place context.

The app re-encodes uploaded photos to remove camera metadata. The current application servers do not retain uploaded image files or log request contents. This does not establish that external providers retain nothing: their retention and training terms must be verified and disclosed before release.

Permissions and your choices

Camera access is requested for camera features. You can use a photo picker where available. Location is optional; you may choose a city manually and use the guide without sharing a position.

Spoken guide playback does not require microphone access. Browser dictation, where supported, may use the browser or device speech-recognition service. Revoke camera, location or microphone permissions in your device or browser settings.

Service providers and international processing

The current app uses Cloudflare for infrastructure and storage; Amap for place search, routes and location context; and configurable AI providers including Alibaba Cloud Qwen, Volcano Engine Doubao, Tencent Hunyuan through TokenHub and Google Gemini. Not every provider processes every request.

Processing may take place outside your country, including in mainland China or other locations used by infrastructure and model providers. Provider contracts, processing locations, retention, any training use and applicable international-transfer safeguards remain to be confirmed for the release configuration.

Purpose, legal basis and retention

Processing supports requested account, synchronization, recognition, translation and travel-assistance features, and helps protect the service and handle feedback. The final notice must identify the applicable legal basis for each activity and any additional condition required for sensitive food or allergy information.

Account data remains until account deletion under the current implementation. Sessions normally expire after 30 days. Recent scan text is limited to the six most recent readings on the device. Some local preferences remain after sign-out.

Retention schedules and deletion procedures for feedback, usage records, mail records, security data and provider-held information are not yet finalized. The final policy will state periods or clear criteria; this preview does not promise an unverified retention period.

Your rights and privacy choices

Depending on where you live and the law that applies, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data, receive a portable copy, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, and complain to a data-protection authority. Some US state laws also provide opt-out and appeal rights where applicable.

The current app lets you manage saved content and food preferences and withdraw AI-processing permission. Account deletion is available through Profile → Delete account and data. A web-based deletion flow exists in the app project; its final public address is pending.

The privacy email, request verification process, response periods, appeals channel and regional contact details must be confirmed before launch. This preview website does not accept privacy requests or pretend to process a deletion.

Advertising, children and updates

This website contains no ad network integration or advertising measurement scripts. The release privacy notice must separately verify and state whether any app or infrastructure activity constitutes sale, sharing or targeted advertising under applicable law.

The product is intended for travel use. The operator must confirm the minimum age and relevant child-privacy requirements before release.

Material changes will be reflected in the published notice and communicated as required. The current document is a review draft, not a certification of compliance.
